LIVING ON CAMPUS

On campus housing is available in the College of Nursing residence which provides private rooms for female and male students. The main floor of the residence has a spacious reception area, a large recreation room, an exercise room, kitchen, and laundry facilities. Students residing off campus are welcome to use facilities at the College of Nursing. Requests for housing accommodations are processed by the College Support Representative office. Qualified students have the opportunity to apply for a limited number of positions as Resident Assistants.

All of our 80 dorm rooms are located on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor of the building.  They are all equipped with wireless internet access and a phone for local phone service.

Each room comes with a single bed frame, mattress, computer desk, and chair, dresser with 4 drawers, closet, window blinds and sink.

Students are encouraged to decorate their individual rooms to their liking with window treatments and personal floor rugs. However wallpaper and contact paper is not allowed and should not be used. Students should also refrain from using nails and screws which damage the walls.

Every dorm floor on campus has two RA’s (Resident Advisor). The RA’s are fellow College of Nursing students and act as the initial point of contact for dorm students whenever there are concerns or questions. An RA is responsible for building community, enforcing policies, mediating conflicts and handling concerns as well as being a friend to the residents on their floor.

Our campus is non-smoking. Students are not allowed to burn candles or incense in their rooms.

Exercise equipment is located in the East Recreation Room on the ground level. Pool table, televisions and VCR are available in Recreation rooms on the ground level. Large kitchen with several microwaves, coffee machines, refrigerators freezers as well as cooking ranges are located on the main level as well. Vending machines and ice machine are next to the large laundry room with several washers, driers and irons.

Student residing off campus are welcome to use facilities at the College of Nursing.

Guests and friends of students are welcome to visit dorm/study room floors during the hours of 9am to 11pm, Sunday through Thursday, and 9:00am to 1am Friday and Saturday. Students wishing to have an overnight guest must have prior approval.

Request for housing accommodation is processed by the College of Nursing Representative Office.  Students have the opportunity to apply for a dorm room by completing a Dorm Room Application available online and submitting it by Fax 309-624-8973.

More information on residential policies may be accessed through the OSF Saint Francis College of Nursing Student Handbook.
